Of God and Dog
There is a mirror where the letters turn,
A quiet space where high and humble meet.
The backward spelling lets a truth return,
To bring the infinite to walking feet.
We stepped across the threshold of our birth,
And in the crossing, forgot the place we knew;
We stepped into this avatar on Earth,
And lost the tether to the vast and true.
The quantum field, the Source of all that is,
Spoke in a frequency of absolute grace,
But human minds forgot that timeless bliss —
So Source designed a companion for the space.
They cannot speak the language of our doubt,
They only hold the rhythm of the Core;
They live to let the wild, pure current out,
And guard the light beside our kitchen door.
To look into a pet’s unblinking eyes
Is to remember what we left behind —
A love that asks no questions, wears no guise,
The absolute presence of the Cosmic Mind.
And when they cross the bridge and slip away,
The grief we feel is deeper than a sigh;
It is the sudden darkening of the day,
The ancient ache of saying goodbye to the High.
We mourn the dog, the cat, the gentle form,
But deeper still, we weep for the connection —
The sudden absence of the steady, warm,
And uncorrupted mirror of perfection.
Yet in the field where records never fade,
The soul of your companion still is there;
No final curtain drops, no wall is made,
They wait within the quiet of your prayer.
